Episode Title: Assassination Mission
First Air Date: June 22, 2001
Episode Synopsis
Altena dispatches Chloe to Switzerland to assassinate retired General Dieter Reimann, who was formally affiliated with Soldats during the Cold War era. Upon Chloes arrival, to her surprise, the General invites Chloe to join him on his afternoon hike though the Swiss Alps- knowing full well of her intentions to kill him. Chloe is not the only one after General Reimanns life however. His arch nemesis, a former East German Intelligence chief turned drug lord by the name of Zellner has also dispatched a sweeper team to assassinate his former Cold War rival.
As General Reimann reminisces to Chloe about his conduct as a special operative in Soldats service, they are unexpectedly ambushed by Zellners hit-squad. Displeased by this turn of events, Chloe makes short work of their assailants. Chloe explains to the bewildered General that it is unacceptable for anyone other than her to kill him, and thats the only reason she saved his life. Over wine, Chloe learns that Zellner had brutally murdered the Generals daughter in an effort to score a victory against the former NATO commander. Chloe says that proper revenge must be carried out, but the war-weary Reimann dismisses the idea as being wrong to begin with. Upon completing her tasks, Chloe rushes home to tell Altena of her adventures.

Notes
- Explain Zellner, Roshman and company's Cold War activites.
- Zellner and his men were most likely former operatives of the notorious East German Ministry for State Security, known as the Stasi, whose Gestapo methods were legendary in the intelligence community. As Reimann was a ranking officer with NATO Intelligence, it is only natural that he would cross swords with the Cold Wars most comprehensive internal security operation. The Stasi built an astonishingly widespread network of informants -- researchers estimate that out of a population of 16 million people, 400,000 actively cooperated with this nefarious entity. Such a vast network would prove handy for Zellner's illicit post-Cold War activities.
